Women make up 75% of all users, while men clock in at 63%. According to Hootsuite, those between the ages of 25-29 are Facebook’s core demographic, encompassing a whopping 84%. Closely following are those in the 30-49 age bracket, statistically at 79%. Eighteen to twenty four year olds hold strong at 76%. Fifty-sixty four year olds account for 68% of all users, and if you are 65 or older, you still represent 46% of Facebook’s usership.
Tellingly, data shows that Facebook’s user base is starting to skew older. Just over half of American teenagers are using Facebook (51%). Currently, seniors represent the fastest growing Facebook demographic. And 1.4 BILLION people use Facebook Groups!

Nearly 42% of Facebook users are in Asia-Pacific. Roughly 16% call Europe home, and just over 10% are located in the United States. If your business involves a product(s) that has an international audience, or can be shipped internationally, then Facebook certain holds value.
An impressive 74% of Facebook users log in for an average of 37 minutes a day. That’s more than a quick scroll! So, what are they doing on there? Fifty two percent of American adults get their news from the social media giant. When putting together your company’s yearly or quarterly marketing plan, be sure to remember this stat. Consider Facebook as an avenue to announce your new product launch or post your latest press release. The people who ‘Like’ your business page are interested in your brand and your products. It’s suggested to promote your product in about 30% of your posts.
